How to use Elastopur 2.0 correctly – step by step
Step 1: Preparing the terrarium background
Before applying Elastopur, the structure should be fully modeled and cured.
Typical materials:
- Styrofoam / Styrodur
- Scaping Foam
- classic PU construction show
- 👉 Scaping Foam is particularly recommended because it stains dark and adheres optimally with Elastopur.
Important:
Elastopur adheres not permanently on glass or silicone.
There should always be a Carrier material such as polystyrene or scaping foam should be used.
Step 2: Prepare Elastopur 2.
Elastopur 2.0 is a 1-component system.
👉 No need to mix with hardener!
Easy:
- Open the can
- Add color pigments
- Stir until even coloring is achieved.
If you are one Use the complete set, all components are already optimally coordinated.
Step 3: Apply Elastopur
The material is treated with a Brush applied evenly.
Pay attention to:
- Do not work too thinly
- Coat corners and edges well
- Wear gloves
👉 Tip: Work in several stages, as the material reacts faster on the surface.
Step 4: Apply structural material
While Elastopur is still damp:
- Torf
- Humus
- Sand
- coir

👉 The best way to do this is to work yourself from bottom to top Otherwise, flocking material will fall onto untreated areas and make the work more difficult.
Step 5: drying
- approx. Leave to dry for 24 hours
- remove excess material (e.g. with a vacuum cleaner or brush)
Step 6: Curing

- safe for animals

Step 7: Storing remaining quantities
- Problem: Elastopur 2.0 reacts with the air and hardens in the can.
- Solution: Airtight seal for short-term storage.
- Procedure: Place a piece of plastic film (e.g. cling film) between the rim of the can and the lid.
- Conclusion: Press the lid down firmly to seal the barrier.
- Lagerort: Keep in a cool and dry place.
