Environment & Waste Disposal
Information on battery disposal (BattG)
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
You are legally obligated to return batteries and rechargeable batteries. You must not dispose of them with household waste.
Used batteries can contain pollutants that can harm the environment and health if stored or disposed of improperly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, and nickel, and these can be recycled.
You can dispose of batteries after use in either:
- Return it to us or
- Return free of charge in the immediate vicinity (e.g. in shops or municipal collection points).
Meaning of the battery symbols
The symbol of the crossed-out trash can means that batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.
Under this symbol you may find the following chemical symbols:
- Pb = Battery contains lead
- Cd = Battery contains cadmium
- Hg = Battery contains mercury
Information on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)
Electrical and electronic devices must not be disposed of with household waste. Consumers are legally obligated to dispose of old devices separately from household waste and to take them to a suitable collection point.
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on electrical and electronic equipment indicates that the respective device must not be disposed of in household waste at the end of its life, but must be collected separately.
Old appliances can be dropped off free of charge at public collection points in municipalities and cities. This ensures that valuable resources are recycled and any hazardous substances are properly disposed of.
Return options
Consumers generally have the option of disposing of old devices at a suitable collection point.
If we as a retailer are legally obligated to accept returns, the return will be carried out in accordance with the legal regulations.
Data protection notice
Old devices may contain personal data. Each end user is responsible for deleting personal data from the old devices to be disposed of.
